We are so lucky to have your carefully selected music here in Maine and supported by MPR. Also, your own music is pretty special as well….tones of Lauryn Hill sneak though often.

    Well done!

This week’s program sounded similar to last week’s. After listening to your description I understand why and I commend you for your dedication to Maine Public as well as this period of the flowering Jazz.

I think it would be a great service to have your playlists available as part of the Jazz Flower’s corner of Maine Public’s website.

Great suggestion, and I agree! Currently, the playlist populates on the Maine Public Classical schedule when The Jazz Flower airs. Yet, I will follow up with our IT team, to see when we can implement a playlist archive! Thanks! Peace! šŸ™‚

Can’t believe you are not some syndicated show! Or are you? Anyway, excellent playlists! Thanks so much. Especially for broadcasting in Maine.

The Jazz Flower airs on Maine Public Classical’s seven FM stations, and it is our goal to syndicate on other NPR stations, in the future! Thank you for being a part of The Jazz Flower Community!

      Hi Saylove!
I adore your show so much and thank you deeply for bringing onto the airwaves such rich and fascinating tunes. I was listening around 7:21 this eve and was totally struck by a song you played. It was an octet, I couldn’t grab my pencil in time to get the name… yet it’s from a 1978 album called ā€œSpirits Rejoice.ā€ I’m hoping you might send me the name of this song and the band… I can’t wait to hear it again!
      Thanks,
      Sarah

        Peace Sarah!
The song title is “You Ain’t Gonna Know Me Cos You Think You Know Me,” by Mongezi Feza. I played the rendition by The Louis Moholo Octet. šŸ™‚

Thank-you for a year of firsts for us: the magic of Brandee Younger, a trip down memory lane to music of our lives and a swinging holiday celebration. Best wishes for a 2022 of peace and comfort.
